I wish I could be there to celebrate, but since I'm not, I am going to post some of my favorite birthday memories of you. =) I love you so much and miss you tons! I am so so so SO happy to have gotten to know you (more) since I started working at camp! It has been absolutely wonderful to have you stare at me while we are sitting at our desks.. you can blame it on the board, but I still won't believe you. And while some people think you talk funny on the phone, you should be comforted in the fact that I don't think you have a Spanish accent. Thank you so much for being an amazing listener and friend and I hope you have an absolutely wonderful birthday! We'll have to go hippie dancing sometime soon to celebrate :)

I am sad I am not there to share this day with you but I love you very much and I get to see you in a few weeks back in bonnie Scotland which is waiting for you! Many cakes, drinks and cuddles (oh and pressies -perhaps) will be had!

A Birthday blog entry

Well what does one say on his only sisters birthday, I am pretty sure (except mum and dad, who did have a large ish part to play in matters) that i am one who remembers (hazily if nothing else) the first of Lesley's 27 birthdays - NO cries of her brother does not know her age, i am of course counting day one as a birthday, which only seems fair as it was the momentous birthday itself.

So yes 27 birthdays ago, a very long 26 years, and in fact perhaps my favourite birthday of Lesley's, as it was the only one i got a present at. Not the chubby ginger ball of screaming and streams of various smelly liquids, but i got a cool red boat AND a yellow truck, what a gift from a new sister indeed.

What has happened to the truck and the boat nobdy within family Fraser can remember but Lesley still hangs around and is without doubt the favouite,as she will attest to - although mum assures us both there are know favourite 'we are special in every way' (one to many Disney moments for mother)

I am sure that the extended NC 'family' will do the looking after of the birthday girl come the 17th but no matter what i am sure it be a very different day than that of a Scottish birthday at the Dufftown or Tomintoul games!

i do remeber as i write the that one birhday a certain Lesley and Miss Jodie were driven by brother Colin to the Dufftown games for a birthday night out, the driver after some coaxing from an already slightly half cut pair was invited on the waltzers (enter amiercan translation here please) for a quick spin. He must admit that he enjoyed the spin but not as much as the hilarious sight of a Lesley and Jodie stepping off after one V&C and a spin around for two minutes, two very cheap dates that night!

over and out from a brother who has lost his truck and boat in the midst of time, much like, i am sure, you will lose a few memories in the midst of the odd vodka and coke

For your birthday, I thought it might be nice to take a photographic journey through our friendship. Here is a photo and memory for every year that we’ve been friends.

2006, the year we first met and discovered our love for one another. What do you do when you’ve been out on the beach all day with no restroom? You convince a bartender to let you walk through a bar kitchen in your swimsuit to use the bathroom in his closed bar. You then pause long enough in the empty bar to play with the jukebox and take pictures.

2007, reunited and it felt so good. Our first year as activity directors and out for our annual get to know you at LaHa. We’re looking cool as ever. Also, when you’re feeling badly about your fair complexion you can look back at this picture and smile at your currently golden hue.

2008: the summer of the breakfast burritos, crazy weekends on a pull out couch, and the foursome that’s still going strong. This summer for me will always stand out as the summer when I realized with certainty that the 4 of us would remain friends no matter where we ended up or what we did. PS…there’s a little reason this picture is amusing to me. See if you can remember why.

2009: “You’re not real, I can’t even look at you right now.” Remember how we had that elaborate scheme to play skype drinking games while you were in NC and I was in Louisiana. Oh silly Lesley. SURPRISE!

2010: A big milestone in any relationship, I brought you home to meet the family. During that one trip we were mistaken as a couple at the very least three times. I think people can just tell how in love we are ;) Your impression of my family Thanksgiving, “I feel like I’m on a movie set. Is that really a dirty, barefoot, kid wearing only diapers playing on a dirt pile?”

2011: I can’t believe we’re both living in North Carolina! How crazy that is when you really stop to think about it?

I feel so blessed to have known you for 6 of your 26 years. You are the bo to my jai. Happy birthday my love, I can’t wait to be there for the next 6.

Life administering medications at camp

Running around early and getting no nap!

Following that summer a special trip to the Outer Banks

Oh yes! and wasn't that great?

Breakfast burritos on weekends and resting with us four

2009, an initial surprise, Lesley was coming back!

Oh shit, Glandular Fever caused some awful attack.

No Lesley this summer, very sad.

But it made getting back to camp something she wanted real real bad.

In 2010 the wait began

The US visa process - (I am not a fan)

Now she's here full time in 2011

I see her all the time, thank heaven!

I have to be honest I was getting pretty sick

of missing that Scottish lady, ick!

But I know this means that there is a another bunch

that is missing her just as much!

So happy birthday Lesley I hope it's good
